An anime adaptation of the game Fate/EXTRA based on the TYPE-MOON visual novel Fate/stay night is in development. Titled Fate/EXTRA Last Encore, this will be the series’ first anime project, and it’ll be animated by Shaft, also known for their work on Puella Magi Madoka Magica and the Monogatari series. Nasu Kinoko is being brought on for series composition.
New information about Fate/EXTRA Last Encore was revealed at the Fate/EXTRA Joint Recital in FGO Fes. 2017 stage event held at Fate/Grand Order Fes. 2017 ~2nd Anniversary~ in Makuhari Messe on July 30.
Shinbo Akiyuki ( Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Monogatari series) will be brought on as general manager. Kishinami Hakuno will be played by Abe Atsushi, and Saber by Tange Sakura. Concept visuals and the PV have also been released that make clear the differences between this and the Fate/EXTRA series we’ve seen before now.
